Privacy Policy

What personal information American Barndos collects, why, who it is shared with, and your privacy rights, including California-specific rights.

Version 1.0.0 — effective August 1, 2026

This is version 1.0.0 of the Privacy Policy, effective August 1, 2026.

This policy describes how American Barndos collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information from visitors and customers of americanbarndos.com.

Information we collect

  • Email address, collected when you unlock a preview, create an account, or place an order.
  • ZIP code, collected when you unlock a preview.
  • Name and phone number, optional, collected if you provide them when creating an account, requesting contact, or placing an order.
  • Build profile answers, such as budget range, lot status, or design preferences, if you complete an intake questionnaire.
  • Order records, including plan purchases, license type, and payment confirmation (payment card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by us).
  • Site analytics, such as pages viewed, device type, and general usage patterns, collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies.

Why we collect your ZIP code

We use your ZIP code to understand the general region a plan is being considered for, so we can route relevant local information such as typical wind and snow load requirements. We do not use ZIP code to set plan prices or restrict plan sales, which are available nationwide.

Who controls your information

National Barndos LLC, DBA American Barndos is the company responsible for the information described in this policy. American Barndos is a trade name of National Barndos LLC, not a separate entity, so your records sit with one company, described in our Affiliated Company Disclosure.

Service providers

We share information with service providers who help us operate the site and fulfill orders, including payment processing (Stripe), email delivery, hosting, and analytics providers. These providers are permitted to use your information only to perform services for us.

If we offer text message updates, opt-in is handled through a separate, clearly labeled consent step. We do not use pre-checked boxes to enroll you in text messages. You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP or contacting us.

Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Order and license records may be retained longer for tax, licensing, and warranty-related recordkeeping.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

Our site and services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have done so, we will delete it.

California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act and the California Privacy Rights Act give you the following rights with respect to personal information we collect about you.

Categories of personal information we collect

Identifiers (email, name, ZIP code), commercial information (order history), internet or network activity (site analytics), and, if you provide it, geolocation information at the ZIP-code level. We do not collect Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, or precise geolocation.

Purposes for collection and use

Fulfilling orders, delivering plan licenses, determining county-level service availability, communicating with you, improving the site, and complying with legal obligations.

Your rights

  • Right to know what personal information we have collected, used, disclosed, or sold or shared about you.
  • Right to delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
  • Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.
  • Right to limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information, to the extent we collect any.
  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights. We will not deny you goods or services, charge different prices, or provide a different level of quality because you exercised a privacy right.
  • Authorized agents. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We may require proof of the agent's authority and verification of your identity.

To exercise these rights, contact legal@americanbarndos.com.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

We do not sell personal information for money. Some of our analytics and advertising tools may be considered "sharing" under California law. To opt out, use the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in the site footer. Your opt-out choice will be honored going forward from when we receive it.
