Carpenter's Wheel gives you a real workshop without giving up the house. The attached garage holds two cars and has a 12 by 9 workshop with a sink along the back wall, plus the mechanical room. From the garage you come in through a mudroom with a powder room and laundry right there, so mess never reaches the living room. Double doors on the covered front porch open into a 17 by 17 living room next to the dining room and a kitchen with an island that seats three and a 6 by 7 walk in pantry. A door off the kitchen leads to a covered porch that runs the full back of the house. The primary suite has a walk in closet and a bath with a shower and a double vanity, and Bedrooms 2 and 3 share a hall bath with its own double vanity. Outside it is lap siding under one long metal roof with cedar porch posts. Good to know: there is no foyer and the bedrooms are not split.

The structure is post frame, so the load path is simple and the interior walls are mostly partitions. That matters when you want to move a wall later, and it matters when a framing crew prices the shell. 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths sit on one level, with 2 garage bays.
